Prices quoted for Expeditions departing in 2005 are valid through December 1, 2005. Expeditions dated after that date is effective December 2, 2005 through December 1, 2006.
Each Expedition is different, unique and exciting—so it just makes sense that each program and its inclusions, exclusions, and its registration and cancellation policies will be different for each program. It’s a good idea to read the terms and conditions that apply to each individual trip.
In general each trip DOES NOT include:
- Costs of passports
- Costs of Visas
- Personal Expenses
- Laundry
- Alcoholic Beverages except where indicated
- Long distance phone calls or internet charges
- Incoming or Outgoing personal faxes
- Room Service
- Meals not specified on each individual Expedition
- Excess Baggage Fees
- Communication Charges
- Airport and Port Taxes
- International and/or internal airfare except where indicated
- Gratuity to Tour Escorts
- Optional Excursions available through Elegant Expeditions
- Optional Excursions available on-site
- Personal Insurance Coverage
- Baggage Handling is at owner’s risk throughout the tour.
If you desire insurance coverage for injury, illness or loss of personal effects while on tour, we highly recommend that you insure yourself and your property prior to departure. Elegant Expedition’s Travel Protection Plan is strongly recommended and briefly outlined here.

Injury, illness or loss of personal effects while on tour is not something that we enjoy talking about – but it is a good thing for you to consider insuring yourself and your property prior to departure. To ensure that your Expedition is the trip of a lifetime, with freedom of thought and action — the Travel Protection Plan is strongly recommended.
Travel insurance is not included in any of the prices quoted. We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance with your first deposit to cover any pre-existing medical conditions). This insurance protects you against loss of deposit and/or final payment, injury, medical expenses, loss of baggage or personal effects, etc. Insurance is offered through Travelex.

Deposit Requirements for passenger bookings differ with each program offered by Elegant Expeditions. The same holds true for cancellation fees. Please refer to each expedition’s detailed terms for more specific information.
Children under the age of 16 are not allowed on many of our trips. In some cases, as in the couples only Valentine tour “Love In The City of Light”, couples under the age of 21 are not allowed.
Quoted tour prices include planning, handling, and operational charges and are quoted based on the current rate of exchange and tariff as of February 15, 2005. In the event of a significant increase in foreign exchange rates or other unexpected increases, costs are subject to revision. No refunds will be made if costs are reduced. All prices are in US Dollars unless otherwise specified.

Prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars, per person, and include all services outlined. They are based upon the tariffs and rates in effect at time of printing, or booking. All prices are subject to currency fluctuations, and Elegant Expeditions and their Tours Operators reserves the right to adjust its prices accordingly.
Elegant Expeditions purchases transportation, hotel accommodations, ground handling, restaurant services and other services from various independent suppliers that are not subject to its control. Elegant Expeditions cannot, therefore, be liable for any personal injury or property damage that may occur due to:
- A wrongful, negligent, or arbitrary act by others not under the direct control of Elegant Expeditions;
- defects in or failures of any aircraft, vessel, automotive vehicle, or other means of transportation not under its control.
- Transfers operate only at the scheduled times and days specified for each tour departure: therefore, complimentary transfers are not available if you have booked pre & / or post tours accommodations.
- As these are private transfers, in the unlikely event of a missed transfer through flight delays outside Elegant Expeditions control, passengers will need to make their own alternative transfer arrangements at their own expense. If informed in time, Elegant Expeditions will assist in helping travelers make their alternative transfers and we can take a credit card for it.
If we are advised in enough time to change your arrival or departure
transfer we will do so.
Elegant Expeditions also reserves the right to withdraw a tour or any part of it, to make such alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary or desirable, to refuse to accept or retain as a member of any tour any person at any time, and to pass on to tour members any expenditures or losses, caused by airline schedule changes, delays or events beyond its control.
Also, to withdraw anyone whose behavior is deemed likely to affect the smooth operation of the tour, or adversely affect the enjoyment or safety of other passengers. Elegant Expeditions shall be under no liability to any such person for refund, compensation, or any other matters arising from their withdrawal.
All matters concerning this booking shall be subject to the laws of the State of Florida. Any legal action arising out of or relating to this tour the passenger agrees that venue shall be in Broward County, Florida, and hereby waive any and all objections to jurisdiction or venue.

Hotels are based on double occupancy. Single supplement is indicated on the itineraries.
Meals are served as specified in the itineraries. Special meals such as vegetarian, etc. must be requested in writing. Elegant Expeditions can not guarantee or assume any responsibility or liability if client’s special meal requests are not fulfilled by any vendors.
Due to occasional flight delays, it may not be possible to include some sightseeing tours as scheduled. If it becomes necessary to change the means of transportation or any other service, or for the tour to be prolonged through circumstances beyond the control of the ground operator, any additional tour cost must be borne by the passenger and is payable immediately.
Elegant Expedition tours are based on a minimum of 20 people and a maximum of 30 and prices are based on double occupancy. Single supplements will apply if you are traveling alone. Trips will be escorted from gateway departure city if group travel is an option, or from arrival gateway if individual arrivals are the case.
U.S. passports with a six-month validity AFTER the date of return are required for all tour participants.
Non-U.S. citizens should check visa and health requirements with appropriate consulates or their travel agent.
In general, tours are active and require a good deal of walking, frequently including stairs. We strongly recommend that you discuss any health concerns regarding these points with your personal physician.
Travelers needing special assistance must advise Elegant Expeditions at time of booking to determine what assistance may reasonably be made available. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a tour member for walking, dining, getting on/off motorcoaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. Passengers requiring any form of such assistance must be accompanied by an adult, over 21 years of age, responsible for providing such assistance. Handicap access to some facilities may not be available at the same required levels standard in the US. Passengers agree that they will not hold Elegant Expeditions liable for any decision by a third party service provider to refuse to carry them or to provide any facilities or accommodation to them or to provide any services to them.
Vaccinations necessary for the countries included in your itineraries will be advised as soon as deposit and Passenger Information form is complete and sent to Elegant Expeditions.
The responsibility of Elegant Expeditions, its Tour Operators and/or its agents is limited. They act only in the capacity of an agent for the tour participant in all matters connected with transportation whether by plane, motor-coach, boat, railway, car or other means, accommodation and meal services, sightseeing programs, and other suppliers.
Elegant Expeditions shall in no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the client or any person traveling with him/her, for any damage, injury, death, sickness, loss, accident or irregularity resulting from any damage, additional expense, or inconvenience caused by delay, or cancelled transportation services, changes of schedule, strikes, or defect in any vehicle through the act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the participant or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour; sickness, weather, strikes, lockouts or labor stoppages regardless of fault, war (declared or not), riots, hostilities, civil disturbances, theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, acts or restrictions of governments or other authorities, de jure or de facto, acts of public enemies, seizure under legal process, acts of God and from any other causes beyond the control of Elegant Expeditionsl. Elegant Expeditions neither owns nor operates any of the suppliers of services and reserves the right to withdraw any features announced in the itinerary, substitute hotels, and to make such alterations in the tour program as may be found desirable for the convenience of the participants and the proper operation of the tour. Elegant Expeditions reserves the right to cancel the tour any day prior to departure for any reason. In such event the liability Elegant Expeditions is limited to a refund of all payment received and this shall constitute full settlement with the tour participant.
Responsibility of participating air carriers (hereafter referred to as the "airlines") is only for the air travel portion of these tours performed by them on behalf of the tour participants in accordance with the terms and conditions of their individual passage contracts and subject to applicable laws, treaties and regulations governing air transportation. Tour services including, but not limited to, carriage by land or sea, guide services, hotel accommodations, restaurants and all services other than carriage by air are furnished by contractors who are independent and do not act for or on behalf of the airlines and the airlines should not be held responsible for any act, omission or event occurring prior to the tour participant's embarkation upon or after his disembarkation from any airline's aircraft. The usual passage contract used by the airline when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the tour participant, and in purchasing a passage contract as part of these tours, the participant acknowledges and accepts the foregoing conditions. The airlines shall not be held responsible for any act, omission or event, during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft.
